Rick was born and raised in Hamilton
and Graduated in 1974 as a Chartered Accountant. He was one
of the youngest ever to receive a CA degree, at the age of 24.
After graduation Rick worked in industry and with Revenue Canada
Taxation. While at Revenue Canada he spent time in the Audit
Section, Special Investigations, and in the Large Corporation
Section – Computer Division.
Rick started to work for Paddy Nolan on
October 13, 1981 as an associate and became a partner on June
30, 1982.
Rick is active in the local community
and is currently setting up a golf tournament to raise funds
for L’Arche Hamilton. Over the years Rick was a board
member and treasurer for the St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation,
a trustee on the St. Joseph’s Villa board, and a member
of the Multiple Sclerosis of Hamilton Board of Directors.
He was an initial member of the “Dreams Come True Charity
Golf Classic” golf tournament committee which raised
$150,000 over the past ten years for local charities.
Timothy
M. Galvin
Timothy M. Galvin, BComm, MBA, CMA, CA Tim and his team provide,
and have for the past several years, a wide range of financial
and consulting services to both the profit-oriented and non-for-profit
sectors. These services include audit, review, taxation, and
management consulting. The long-term relationships developed
with his clients allow him to continue to provide timely and
relevant advice.
Tim joined
the firm in 1991 and became partner in 1996.
Tim was born and raised in Hamilton
and currently resides there with his wife and two boys.
Tim is active in the community
and is currently on the Board of Directors of Birthright,
is an executive member of the Knights of Columbus Council
12453 and sits on his parish Finance Council. Tim is also
a former Cub and Beaver Leader, softball and T-ball coach
and umpire, chair and treasurer of the school council where
his children attend as were as a member of the World Youth
Day Audit and Finance Committee.
Georgina
Miller
Georgina Miller, CFP
Attended Cathedral Girls’ High School
in Hamilton, Ontario and graduated from Special Commercial
in 1963
In the last year of high school worked at
the Barton Street Public Library as a page and helper to the
Librarian.
In June 1963 started to work for E.P. Nolan,
Chartered Accountant as bookkeeper and secretary.
Work has varied from basic bookkeeping,
payroll, preparing and/or typing financial statements, personal
tax returns, corporate tax returns both manually and computerized
to performing audits, review engagements, teaching bookkeepers
and managers how to do books as well as performing controllership
duties for various clients.
Assumed position of Office Manager for Nolan,
Hoecht and Welsh in 1985.
Earned CFP designation in April 1999.
Served on Board of Directors of Kidney Foundation
as Treasurer from 1989 to 1991.
Member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority
for 25 years doing public service work and holding various
positions on the Executive, both at Chapter level and the
City level.
